Mackenzie practices exclusively in the area of family law. Prior to his call to the bar in May 2021, Mackenzie pursued his passion for furthering access to justice and advocating for survivors of family violence. Mackenzie completed his articling placement at Luke’s Place Support and Resource Centre for Women and Children in Oshawa, Ontario, where he developed the necessary skills to approach each case with a personalized approach focused on ensuring his client’s voices are heard.
As a litigator, Mackenzie strikes a balance between being a confident and decisive litigator and being a skilled and reasonable negotiator when possible. With experience navigating high-conflict parenting issues and complex financial matters, Mackenzie is equipped for each case with a personal and calm approach.
Before joining The Riley Divorce and Family Law Firm in 2024, Mackenzie’s practice in Simcoe County was focused on family and child protection law, with matters involving parenting time, decision-making responsibility, child support, spousal support, and equalization. Mackenzie also has experience in matters advocating for grandparents’ rights and representing fathers.
Outside of the courtroom, Mackenzie enjoys spending time at his family cottage in Gravenhurst, cheering tirelessly for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and going for walks with his yellow lab, Pluto.
